Handicapped?
Well, I was a non-believer, seriously I know what a non-believer is thinking, especially when I'm a Chinese.
Humans, we seldom blame ourselves for mistakes we committed, not to mention when we face obstacles and difficulties. We always blame our bad luck, we blame our parents, we blame everything but ourselves. Then we start to give up.
We Chinese believe in karma, probably because of Buddhism or polyteism had deeply influenced our culture. We believe that a person is borned handicapped is due to sins they committed in their past life. Then we start to discriminate them, we start to tease at them for we believe they committed sins in their past life.
Ironicly,
John 8:3-11
The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?"......
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"
"No one, sir," she said.
"Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."
Sometimes, in the Bible itself shows even the Jews believe in karma. Jesus' disciples asked Jesus that whether it is the sin of the man himself or his parents that made him blind.
But He who knows and tells the truth told them:
John 9:1-3
As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"
"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. "
Can you see how great is God? God doesn't just bring us into this world for no purpose. Of course we are created to do His work! We are all here for a reason, and we have limited time to complete our assignment! When the time expires, we face God's judgement. His judgement is just.
John 9:4-5
As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
Guys, you who are reading this, treasure every moment of your life for the work of the Lord. He has an assignment for you, do it! You are someone to Him, you are created for a purpose, even though you're handicapped!
