The Death Note

Lately I'm crazy over the comic "Death Note" (Haha, you must be thinking that I'm so out of date to read that at this moment). Whao it's awesome! It's not the part where Yagami Light kills criminals by just writing down their names and cause of death and the people just die that impresses me, but it was his and L's detective mind that impresses me (that's because I'm the kind that enjoy reading detective novels and comics, in fact, I was a big fan of "Detective Conan").

But this Shinigami (死神, gods of death) concept probably works only in "Death Note" (And "Bleach", another favourite comic of mine), or this world there maybe a cluster of people believe they exist.

For me, I would like to believe in a God that is merciful and loving rather than such Shinigami that has no respect for lives. Simply throwing the power to kill so that someone would pick it up and enjoy the process of watching humans sinning and killing each other. Well God will not let such force exist in our world because He loves us. If such such power exists in hands of merciless and graceless, don't we have to worry about our everyday life when people can just simply take our lives whenever they want?

Only one God has authority and power over our lives. No one else, even ourselves, can take anyone's life other than Him. Even they are criminals, they are creations of God. Who are we to judge, when God has the full authority over their lives. He'll be the only one to decide who to stay and who to leave.

Even though Yagami Light, in the beginning, executes criminals that law can't punish so that the world can be a better place, he cannot be justified. Who is he but merely a human to take someone's life? He has no respect for lives at all!

Why is he taking over God's job?

Genesis 18:23-33
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When great powers falls on the hand of humans, most likely we'll use it on ourselves for selfish purposes (of course they are some who do not). Even Yagami Light, who had a great vision, to make the world better, in the end killing people like police and FBI agents to make sure his plan is not threaten. Then self-justification, lead to bigger sin.

This is how the sin cycle works. First a sin, then guilt, the next is a choice to repent or not, submit to Jesus or not, if you don't, comes self-justification and then to the next bigger sin...Can't you see that working in Death Note?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Server God with everything He blessed you, serve God with powers and authority that He has given you. Jesus served His disciples by washing their feet, so people with authorities and powers shall serve others for God's sake.

Come back to Jesus when you sin. Fear God for He has authority over your life. And thank God for everything He blessed you.
